This is what i would call, a "fossil-like" object on Mars. Many peope have noticed fossil-like objects on Mars images, but yet there is no explanation who such objects with complicated, regular and symmetrical shape, did form on Mars. By "fossil-like" I don't mean that the object must be a fossil, but there is yet no other name for the objects on Mars, which resemble fossils by their shape. It seems to be the official position of science, that there should be no fossils on Mars, and all such objects therefore must have been formed by some other geological processes, though there is no proof either that there never was or couldn't be any life on Mars. But in spite of that it is considered not correct to argue something to the contrary of that official position, which we also don't do, when we call such objects "fossil-like", like there is a "Horse Head Nebula", it is not possible to proceed from people's ignorance or consider what some such people may think, in describing or naming something. This image has been taken from this Mars image from the official Phoenix mission site: phoenix.lpl.arizona.edu/images.php?gID=620&cID=15No more processing were done for making this image, than applying automatic white balance to the whole picture, cropping and scaling the image.

The explanation offered by some scientists about the origin of the objects like that above, is that this is pumice, the result of either a volcanic activity or a meteorite impact (there is a big impact crater near the Phoenix landing site). One rock near that object really looks like pumice, but the question is whether this explains the form of all objects there, there also are objects with the form of cone, cylinder, cube etc. And the question is, why don't they offer any official explanation about the objects seen on Phoenix images, Mars rover images and the other images taken from the Mars surfice. My posts here can be moved to another thread, if there is some more proper place where one wants to discuss these questions.
